TESTIMONIES
My
experience in Master’s Commission has forever changed my life. Entering the
year, I expected God to do amazing things. However, what the year held for me
was nothing near what I expected; it was greater. I was challenged beyond
belief to take my relationship to the next level. God broke me down, so he
could build me up correctly. My old way of thinking was forever changed, and
old habits were stopped. For me, the structure of Masters helped me develop
discipline and servant hood. Through this year, many “stains” in my life have
been wiped away. The power of God’s deliverance is like no other. I am blessed
to say that God has changed me completely from the inside out. I’m excited to
continue the pursuit of excellence in His eyes.

I
grew up in a Southern Baptist home in Mississippi, and called myself Christian
as if it was a political position or faction of which I was a member. I
basically was agnostic until the age of 16, acknowledging the presence of a god,
but doubting any real influence on my life, until I encountered the real power
and beauty of God at a summer missions trip/retreat with my Baptist youth
group. At the time, God presented me with an alternate way of dealing with my
parents’ recent divorce and my recent relocation to Pennsylvania other than
with self hate and carnal addictions. Shortly after, searching for a more
meaningful regular experience from God, I began attending Bethel Assembly of
God, in spite of much duress from my Baptist mother. I found a group of people
who shared my passion and wonder at the Lord and encouraged it to grow. I
delved deeper into my spirituality and my relationship with God, and became
baptized in the Holy Spirit in Texas in the second semester of
my junior year. God has given me the power to take care of myself and provided
the means for me to be where I am today with the calling I have and I couldn’t
be more happy.
